Urbanisation is increasing at a rapid pace in India. Currently 60% of India lives in rural areas and this figure is expected to change to 50% by 2020. That means Indian cities will need to create housing for nearly 120 million people coming into its cities in the next 6 years. This is causing unprecedented stress on its energy resources.  Our dependence on depleting and polluting sources to meet our current energy demands is dangerously high. It is therefore paramount to resort to alternative sustainable methods.
